Letterman Varsity Jacket

In the United States, high school and college students don varsity jackets, sometimes called letterman jackets, to show school pride and accomplishment in athletics or the classroom. The usual design of the jacket is a wool body with leather sleeves, ribbed collar, and belt. On the front or back of the jacket, along with the student’s embroidered name and/or sport/activity sign on the sleeve, are frequently seen as the school’s initials or mascot.
